VIEWPOINTS  is an online art exhibition which sought entries from Victorian artists who live with or have been affected by mental health issues. All artists (including artists from community projects, supported residential accommodation and training programs) were required to submit up to 3 artworks online.

A total of 65 artwork entries was received from 30 artists across Victoria.  Applications were assessed by a panel of industry experts of artists and art professionals with and without disabilities, in line with the following criteria:

  • Alternative viewpoints presented (such as personal and professional perspectives on the world, art forms and themes associated with Mental Health awareness)
  • Artistic merit and innovation (such as in the use of materials, concepts and themes explored)
  • Raising awareness of the issues associated with Mental Health

A final 23 entries were selected to be part of the VIEWPOINTS online exhibition. The  Award for Best Work as chosen by the judges went to Theodore Giannoukas for his two pieces, ‘Touch of Zen #3’ and ‘Poet in the Park’.
